I’m so glad you’re here!
If you’re not yet familiar with my work, I’m a Skills Coach for teen girls and young adult women. It’s a niche field, a specific service to one-on-one coaching.
Working with a younger population, I’ve had to refine my approach over the years. I realize how young people are missing the most important skillset - knowing how to shift and change gears, being prepared to walk away from things and people that don’t make them feel good, including changing the groups of friends and poor dating relationships they have.
What I’m genuinely struck with is how intensely young people are willing to compromise. Just like adults, young people are desperately seeking meaningful friendships and relationships filled with purpose, where they can unapologetically be themselves. But not knowing the “how to’s” of exiting poor friend groups or dating relationships is what can get them into feeling stuck, depressed and feeling anxious. So when parents of teens or young adult women reach out to me, I know it’s because they’ve most likely exhausted every way possible to deal with the issues they’re confronted with.
The reason why I have built connections with young adult women is because I get them (besides raising two daughters) - I get how messy and complicated their world is. I get them to a place of feeling empowered and comfortable in their own skin, at the same time being accountable, owning up to feeling unfocused, awkward, disengaged, scared, confused, and all the other big emotions they’re trying to manage. I help them become introspective, talking about the discomfort of change, changing who they surround themselves with, and to ultimately learn how to feel brave, confident, and most importantly, worthy.
My running mantra is, “A healthy and happy life is putting yourself in a mental space where you feel safe, appreciated, and respected.”
As always, it’s a privilege supporting and mentoring teenage girls and young women.
